There is no doubt that when you are going somewhere fancy there will be valet parking. Valet parking communicates to your guest that the place they are going to is classy, trustworthy, and reputable. You are greeted with a kind smile and the complementary act of not having to park your car yourself, but have you ever sat back and thought to yourself “how does this actually work?” Today we are going to walk you through the process of how valet parking actually works

Before you pull up to your desired location you must prep for the drop-off. When dropping off your car at the valet here are a few things to remember. One of them is to make sure you have cash on you to pay for the valet upfront and to tip your service member at the end of your visit. Some valet locations have the option to add the cost to your restaurant/ hotel tab, but you can never be too prepared.

The second thing to remember is to take all oversized personal items out of your car. Even though your vehicle will be safely parked, the last thing you want is to keep your flat screen tv in your trunk in case of emergency.

The last thing to remember before you drop off your vehicle is to detach your car key from the rest of your keys. There is nothing worse than fumbling your keys around trying to give your service person the key to your vehicle.

The drop-off is an important part of this process. The first thing to remember upon car drop-off  is that the valet service member is there to serve you. They will open the door for you and even help you out of your vehicle upon arrival. It is okay to leave your car running and hand them the key to your vehicle. From there, they will take good care of your baby.

Step 3: Receiving A Valet Parking Ticket

After you have dropped your vehicle off, a member from the valet service will initiate some sort of ticket so that you can claim your prized possession at the end of the night. Do not lose this ticket or you will not be very happy.

At the end of your event, you will be able to pay (and maybe tip) for your parking valet and pick up your car. Remember that ticket we told you not to lose, well now is the time to take the ticket and give it to your valet service member to reclaim your car.
